So there’s this anthology out there called Vagabonds: Anthology of the Mad Ones, which collects art, poetry, and prose. Their latest issue, Volume 7 is out now, and it includes a piece of flash fiction I wrote! You can purchase a print copy or read a free PDF on their site.
When I was writing “We All Return to the Water Some Day,” I was thinking about the Texas Hill Country, where my family went on a church retreat every summer when I was growing up. It’s not a story about church or Jesus, though. It’s about reconnecting with the universe, and other things that are difficult to articulate without sounding like a douche.
It’s a pretty great issue, with lots of thought-provoking writing in it. And pictures! Check it out if you would like.
