These days I usually put my zines together on my laptop, but back in high school, zine-making was a much more hands-on kind of thing. My friends and I would get together to make little collages, draw pictures, and scribble out our poems by hand. A couple of days ago, I was in the mood to get back to those roots, so I made “Bon Apetite,” a handwritten collage style zine.
The theme is, broadly, bodies and consuming. I don’t think I’m really breaking any new ground with these topics, but they’ve been on my mind lately and I had some stuff to say.
I honestly don’t know if I’ll be selling this one. There were no drafts, I just sat down and made it. I’m not sure it’s good enough for public viewing. But it was super fun to make.
